OLEOMETS: A CLINICAL STUDY ON THE EFFECTS OF THOUSAND OLIVES ON METABOLIC SYNDROME

OleoMetS is the first clinical study evaluating the efficacy of THOUSAND OLIVES Oleocanthal 5mg in treating metabolic syndrome. This novel food supplement, derived from early harvest extra virgin olive oil, is rich in polyphenols and oleocanthal.

A double-blind clinical study involving 106 patients diagnosed with metabolic syndrome is  underway, conducted by research teams from the following leading universities:

• School of Pharmacy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
University of Nicosia
University of Crete
Yale University (Connecticut, USA)

The OleoMetS study seeks to assess the impact of daily 10mg THOUSAND OLIVES  Oleocanthal (administered as two 5mg capsules) on critical parameters associated with  metabolic syndrome, such as :
+ High blood pressure
+ High blood sugar levels
+ High triglycerides
+ Low HDL (“good”) cholesterol
+ Increased body mass index (BMI)

The clinical study, which began on September 15, 2024, anticipates final results soon. OleoMetS aims to develop novel nutritional supplements and approaches to mitigate metabolic syndrome and improve patient health.

OleoMetS is significant due to its focus on a food supplement, a rarity in metabolic syndrome research, which predominantly studies drug effects.

Results will be published on our website upon availability.
